The Democrats and other liberal minded people like to scream about how Republicans and conservatives want to destroy our democracy. The mainstream media amplifies this message for them 24/7. But the fact is the U.S.A. is not a democracy. We are a republic joined together by 50 different individual democracies.
A democracy is nothing more than 50.999999% of the votes. In other words, the other 49% of the people have no representation. Hardly a fair form of governing, and one that has failed every time it was tried. In reality, it is the Democrats who are trying to enforce democracy and destroy the republic. This trend has been happening for years. The citizens of New York State are ruled by the will of New York City. Same in Washington state (Seattle), Illinois (Chicago), Nevada (Las Vegas), and many others. That leaves the people in places like Reno, Buffalo, Salem, and many others without a political voice. But fairness doesn’t seem to matter in today’s political climate. It’s all about power and damn the Constitution.
But Why?
Consider education deprecation, welfare type handouts, the social media influence deterioration of society. Also, outsourcing of technical/manufacturing jobs overseas, leading to meaning less employment opportunity, and a declining work ethic.
Consider solutions that would reverse this trend to improve the quality of life.
Historically, democracies have collapsed under their own weight, devolving into tyranny or anarchy. The founders of our nation understood this, which is why they created a constitutional republic that allows for self-governance but protects against the tyranny of the majority.
Yet today, it is the Democratic Party that is working tirelessly to erode these republican principles in favor of direct democracy. This trend has been particularly pronounced in states where large urban centers control the political landscape at the expense of rural and suburban communities. In New York, the policies of New York City dictate the fate of the entire state, leaving places like Buffalo politically voiceless. The same holds true in Illinois (Chicago vs. the rest of the state), Washington (Seattle’s dominance), and Nevada (Las Vegas calling the shots). The result? The voices of millions of Americans are effectively drowned out, forced to abide by policies that do not reflect their values or interests.
The Result…
Adding to this societal decay is the role of social media. Platforms designed to foster communication have instead become echo chambers that amplify partisan narratives, suppress dissenting views, and encourage outrage over reasoned debate. The algorithms driving these platforms ensure that ideological conformity is rewarded, while dissent is punished, further entrenching a one-sided political landscape.
